my dustbowl series
pencil and ink sketches; coffee + tea stained papers
salvaged wood for a future canvas
Here's a sampling of the art I've been working on and plan to officially unveil next month once school is out for both daughters. Sketching, painting, natural dyes/colorants....each have brought me happiness.
I am so excited to see the "reveal" of your work. I love the art born from your soul, and Mandy I am truly happy that you found your creative place.
ReplyDeleteThank you for all your support! I'm tickled to see how close I am to the colors of the time -- check out these newly released great depression-era color photographs: http://www.businessinsider.com/great-depression-color-photos-2011-5#
ReplyDeleteThose photos tell interesting stories. Wow, what a find. Thanks for the link, really enjoyed them.
ReplyDeleteI cannot wait to see your dustbowl series!! Is that a tent I see? Truly, I am so eager and excited for you!
ReplyDeleteThank you Julie! Yes there is a tent in there...and a few people (portraiture is outside my comfort zone but necessary for the subject matter). All in all it feels great to push myself creatively. So grateful for your support. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteOH MY GOSH!!!!! I want to see these! Mandy! You are incredible. I really can't wait! Will they be for sale?
ReplyDeleteSweet Rikkianne -- thank you for these uplifting words. I hope to list them later this month (it's a busy one with school still in session for the girls). I do you you like! Cheers!
